In 1977a group of friends with kind hearts started the foundation while recovering from a family loss. Now 44 years later, leaders in kidney care in Laredo, TX continue their mission to help dialysis patients afflicted by end-stage renal disease.

How we help
Transportation
Assistance Program
The foundation helps patients on dialysis that need transportation assistance to get to their dialysis treatments and kidney transplant appointments. They 40% of our budget goes to this program as the need is so high.
Nutrition
Assistance Program
KFOL purchases renal vitamins, calcium supplements, formula for patients on dialysis, and protein supplements for patients who are in need of them. This program helps hundreds of patients every year.
Emergency Bill Pay Assistance Program
Patients in need of funds for emergency bill pay are helped to cover their bills. We have helped patients avoid evictions and avoid disconnection of light and water services with this program.
Medical Co-pay Assistance Program
Patients on dialysis often need surgical procedures and multiple specialists evaluations. They nonprofit organization helps them cover some of their medical visit co-pays.
